THE BELT AND ROAD INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION DEVELOPMENT
WORKING COMMITTEE
I. Background of Establishment
To promote and comprehensively implement the “Belt and Road Initiative” (BRI) - a vision and action framework for global development - in 2016, the National Development and Reform Commission of China (NDRC) led the establishment of the Belt and Road Research Institute, alongside the Belt and Road Scientists Alliance.
These organizations are responsible for policy research, interpretation of strategic orientations, and participation in development planning for regions, ports, and international industrial parks in countries and localities along the Belt and Road routes.
In 2017, the Belt and Road Research Institute, in cooperation with the China International Talent Exchange Foundation, established the Belt and Road International Development Cooperation Fund and the BR Fund Management Committee, which is responsible for the operation, management, and promotion of multilateral international cooperation.
To date, the Committee and its implementing bodies have established more than 20 national centers in countries along the Belt and Road, supporting development in education, culture, science and technology, human resources, international trade, project consulting, and multilateral economic cooperation.
II. Establishment and Functions
Under the coordination of multiple central ministries and agencies, the Belt and Road International Cooperation Development Working Committee was established to promote the circulation of production factors among participating countries, optimize resource allocation, strengthen economic integration, and enhance people-to-people exchanges.
The Committee currently focuses on the following areas:

Advisory services and promotion of international investment projects
III. International Operational Network
The Committee has established a multidimensional international cooperation network, including national centers in more than 15 partner countries, such as:
Japan, South Korea, Mongolia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Romania, the United Kingdom, and Tanzania.

VI. Flagship Products and Projects
“Ancient Yunnan Tea - BRI State Gift” Cultural Product Series, under the brand “Na Shan Yi Pin”, including black tea, white tea, ripe tea, and green tea made from ancient tea trees over 100 years old.
This series aims to promote Chinese culture and present symbolic products of peace, friendship, and cooperation to the world.
VII. Achievements and International Cooperation
The Committee has met, signed agreements, and cooperated with senior leaders from many countries, including Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, the Philippines, and Kazakhstan.
It has established and operated national centers, promoted education and human resource cooperation, organized forums, training programs, and study-abroad initiatives, and implemented green development, high-tech, and cross-border human resource projects.

The Belt and Road International Cooperation Development Working Committee is committed to contributing to the grand cause of the Belt and Road Initiative and promoting the Five Connectivities:
Policy Coordination, Infrastructure Connectivity, Unimpeded Trade, Financial Integration, and People-to-People Bonds.
